I've been a lifelong entrepreneur with both successful and failed ventures. I have learned much in both cases. The-Idea-Man.org will more than likely be my last effort. At 80 years old, I'm determined that helping others to achieve their entrepreneurial goals, based on my past experience and knowledge, will be my legacy.
My life has been filled with adventure, making it difficult to know just where to start. Much of my early biography is a part of the eBook available https://the-idea-man.org/ , titled "Journey Of An Entrepreneur", it's only a small part of my story.
The places where I've lived and my experiences while there, may be of interest. Here are a few examples of dates that are not mentioned in my book:
1981-1983: Served as Larry Flynt's personal bodyguard, traveling with him extensively. 1984-1986: Lived primarily at Rancho El Soccorito, a private village near San Quentin, Baja, Mexico. Raced SCORE off-road, Class 1 and Class 3 events. 1986-1987: Worked as an Able-Bodied Seaman on a Super Tanker, lived in both Valdez, Alaska and David, Panama when not aboard the ship.
1995-1998: Moved to Chiang Mai, Thailand. Started a Hass variety avocado farm. Moved in 1998 to Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand. Farmed avocados and cherimoyas and had an anthropological tour business called "Emerald Triangle Tours." 1999: Started "Khmer Road Sculpture" (hand-carved stone Buddhas), using the 10 most iconic Buddha sculptures from Southeast Asia's history. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCz3oHvxmVU-1zf1hUX3dEng December 26, 2004: While traveling up the river very close to the Andaman Sea (Myanmar), I witnessed the death and destruction from the Indonesian earthquake and tsunami. An estimated 225,000 lives were lost. 2012: Started "Kakemono Scrolling Posters". The iconic images of my stone Buddha carvings were replicated in the ancient, traditional technique of silk and hand made paper. https://web.facebook.com/TerrellKaucher
March 11, 2011: Was living in Tokyo, Japan, while studying with a master in the ancient art of Kakemono Scrolling Posters. Witnessing firsthand the death and destruction of this earthquake and the subsequent tsunami had a profound effect on my life. July 23, 2018: I was building my new home in Kengmaihia, Champasak province, Laos. The hydroelectric dam collapsed while under construction near southeast Champasak. The heavy rains and dam failure caused massive flooding and an unknown number of casualties January 25, 2020: New visa regulations adopted by the Lao government regarding Covid-19. All foreigners were expelled (with few exceptions). Moved to Hua Hin, Thailand, where I lived until allowed to return to Laos on March 5, 2023. Long-term visa now held. Now living in rural Kengmaihia, Laos, where I'm planting avocado trees and finishing my home. A simple, healthy life with the rewards of helping others when I can.
Be The Future,
